Job Roles

  • Collaborate with and guided by the Director of Nursing, provide orientation and training of all nursing personnel.
  • Collaborate with Director of Nursing in the development of training for the nursing staff to include patient education, sharpening of nursing skills, emergency procedures, etc.
  • Recruit, train, develop, engage, and retain an accountable workforce.
  • Provide effective counseling/guidance to employees. Administer corrective action promptly when necessary.
  • Foster an environment that promote development and professional growth of employees.
  • Ensure all aspects of the medical clinic at the PACE Center is in compliance with all applicable FHCSD policies.
  • Supervise RN Case Managers assigned to the PACE Program.
  • Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants assigned to the Day Center.
  • Ensure nursing staff promote and maintain health of PACE Participants through teaching, counseling and appropriate preventive and rehabilitative services.
  • Manage nursing staff to ensure regulatory compliance and quality of nursing care is at the highest optimal level for PACE participants.
  • Provide nursing leadership in all facets of PACE operations to ensure seamless and optimal nursing operations in caring for PACE participants.
  • Actively participate in the FHCSD Nursing Leadership meetings and activities.
  • Manage and direct problem resolution, scheduling, staffing and all facets related to nursing operations.
  • Work cooperatively with interdisciplinary team to ensure implementation of quality concepts.
  • May participate in the long-term planning and development of strategic initiatives related to nursing operations.
  • Ensure nursing staff provide appropriate and complete documentation of all PACE Participant medical records to include all provider/nursing communications.
  • Ensure all regulatory standards are met or exceeded and adhered to on an on-going basis (CMS, DHCS, Licensing and Certification).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications/Licenses/Registrations

  • Current California RN license required.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • BSN/MSN degree preferred.
  • Ability and means to travel as needed in a timely manner within San Diego County, to locations that may have limited access to public transportation; proof of liability and property damage insurance on vehicle used is required. DRIVER REQUIREMENTS: Age 21; Licensed for a minimum of 3 years; No violations and/or accidents within 3 years; No vehicle related suspensions/reinstatements; No DUI, reckless or felony Driving within 7 years.

Experience/Specialized skills (including Language)

  • Cultural and linguistic sensitivity to populations served.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years minimum experience of progressively responsible positions in management roles.
  • 3 - 5 years minimum experience in community-based clinics, out-patient medical clinics, or work in a hospital setting, SNF/ALF setting with the Older Adult populations.
  • Demonstrated experience related to management practices and techniques, to include performance management and employee development.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff in a direct, empathetic and understanding manner.
  • Ability to work effectively with culturally, economically and educationally diverse populations.
  • Ability to form positive interpersonal relations with a wide range of staff and clients is essential.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Successful track record of leading and driving positive change through others.

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
